Senior Power Generation Technician

Reporting to the Power Generation Supervisor, the Senior Power Generation Technician position offers a diversified portfolio of products and contributes to the expansion of offerings in the Power Generation sector and new technology platforms for mining electrification. As a senior technician you will be working on emerging and cutting-edge industry technology with a focus on supporting and mentoring a growing team of Field Service Technicians and provide industry leading service and support to our clients.

 

 

Roster:  Mon – Fri 10.5 hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)

Location: Perth Precinct (Perth Airport), WA - As the role is field base, there is the requirement to travel to site. On-Demand allowances provided.

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver technical field support including preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, installations, and commissioning of Power Generation units
  • Support Hybrid and Electrified Equipment projects, exposure to new battery and electrified technologies across multiple machine and equipment types
  • Oversee quality assurance and compliance through regular electrical testing and adherence to regulatory standards
  • Provide exceptional customer service by building strong client relationships and acting as the primary on-site liaison
  • Lead by example through daily actions, behaviours, and decisions that reflect company values
  • Ensure workplace safety by adhering to OH&S protocols, risk analysis, and compliance standards
  • Demonstrate flexibility with travel to customer sites and participation in after-hours or on-call service requirements
  • Maintain documentation accuracy by preparing and reviewing test results, schematic updates, and as-built configurations

 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • A-Class Electrician with current Western Australian Electrical Trade Certificate and licence
  • Valid C Class manual driver’s licence with flexibility to travel to customer sites
  • Generator experience with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with engines, generators, and control panels
  • Experience in electrical control systems, including fault finding, repairs, and interpreting schematics, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and apply technical information in field service environments
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, managing fluctuating workloads while maintaining safety and compliance standards
  • Well-developed communication and organisational skills, supported by intermediate computer literacy

 

Desirable:

  • CEPA training (Power Electric course) or CAT Electrical Power certification highly regarded
  • Possess or be willing to acquire an Electrical High Voltage Switching ticket.
  • Mechanical aptitude / qualification or willing to obtain through supported training
