Retail Business Manager

Reporting into General Manager – Construction Industries, the Retail Business Manager will join our Construction Sales team on a Full-Time basis at our Perth Branch. This role involves leading a high-performing team of Account Managers, Internal Sales Representatives and lead qualification teams, driving capital and aftermarket retail sales across Western Australia.

This strategic leadership role is responsible for developing and executing the WA Retail Sales and Support Strategy, managing annual budgets, and strengthening customer relationships to deliver exceptional outcomes.

You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and Caterpillar to build strong partnerships and implement processes that support our vision of being Easy to Buy and Easy to Own.

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including meal break)

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead by example, consistently demonstrating WesTrac’s values
  • Deliver budgeted sales targets across your assigned customer base
  • Manage campaigns, customer coverage, and market share growth
  • Build strong relationships with Caterpillar to support sales outcomes
  • Foster a high-performance team culture focused on accountability and success
  • Provide clear direction and leadership to meet team and customer goals
  • Drive retail transformation aligned with WesTrac’s 5-year strategy
  • Develop customer segment plans that support our Easy to Buy, Easy to Own vision
  • Represent WesTrac across key industry bodies to promote CI and brand presence
  • Oversee account management performance and act as a key escalation point
  • Manage the full sales process from opportunity to delivery

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Marketing, technically related discipline or a retail management role within large and complex organisations
  • Proven leadership ability to embed the Values and Behaviours of our business
  • Advanced leadership/people management experience with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate teams across multiple functions not directly within the reporting line
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships
  • Proven marketing ability, understanding how to create compelling offers, effective sales funnel management and sales velocity through organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach sales teams to high performance.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), including consultation, negotiation, and facilitation skills to effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
