Project Engineering Supervisor

Reporting to the MineStar Performance and Support Manager, the Project Engineering Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to the Technology Project Engineering function and team. You will ensure all MineStar Technology onboard solution designs are delivered within agreed quality, safety, cost, and scheduling frameworks for our customers, while driving continuous improvement and building enduring engineering capability.

 

 

Roster:  Mon – Fri 8.5 hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)

Location: Perth Precinct (Perth Airport, WA)

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and direct the Technology Project Engineering Function and team
  • Deliver engineering objectives within agreed quality, safety, cost, and schedule frameworks
  • Oversee technical outputs including design solutions, modifications, configuration management, documentation, and drawings
  • Ensure governance of MineStar installations across mining assets with robust quality controls
  • Manage workflow by triaging tickets, approving outputs, and ensuring client-ready deliverables
  • Engage stakeholders proactively to achieve client outcomes, profitability, and risk mitigation
  • Drive business improvement and process development initiatives
  • Coach and mentor team members to build enduring engineering capability aligned with best practice

 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Mechatronics (mechanical, electrical, or electronic disciplines desirable)
  • Strong technical knowledge of mining technology systems, particularly Caterpillar MineStar, with 3–5+ years’ installation and operational experience
  • Hands-on experience in onboarding and integrating equipment into mining operations, including machine installation and configuration
  • Proven leadership capability with at least 5 years managing engineering teams, inspiring and motivating diverse groups
  • Mine site operational experience (minimum 2 years) and familiarity with large-scale technology deployments in heavy industry
  • Commercial acumen with experience in budget management, risk mitigation, and issue resolution
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer-centric approach, able to build strong relationships and manage expectations
  • Advanced communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads, conflicting priorities, and tight deadlines
  • High-level problem-solving and initiative, with the ability to analyse data, compile reports, and deliver consistent quality outcomes
  • Desirable knowledge of Caterpillar systems (SiS), DBSi, WesTrac processes, and other OEM technologies
