Reporting to the Technical Product Specialist Supervisor, the Product Specialist will join our Technology team on a fulltime basis at our Perth Precinct location.

A Technology Product Specialist is an expert in Caterpillar MineStar systems, providing advanced technical support to WesTrac teams and customers while helping drive adoption of new technology products. They use deep mining technology knowledge to improve customer operations and resolve issues, occasionally travelling to site for complex deployments or major problem‑solving.

Roster – Monday – Friday Days, 8.5 Hrs (Including unpaid meal break)

What You'll Do:

  • Lead by example through actions, behaviours and decision‑making aligned with company values.
  • Provide specialist support across Caterpillar digital technologies to WesTrac teams and customers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, resolving complex product issues and managing escalation to Caterpillar when required.
  • Produce high‑quality technical documentation, including post‑installation reports, solution designs and product release material.
  • Support stakeholders by sharing updates on new Caterpillar technologies, improving customer operations, and ensuring successful integration and knowledge transfer of MineStar products.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mining technology, with demonstrated capability in Fleet Dispatching, autonomous controller builder, or application specialist roles.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with strong planning, organisation and time‑management abilities.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical, reporting, problem‑solving and follow‑through skills.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Strong knowledge of WesTrac technology offerings, Caterpillar MineStar products, mining automation and control systems, supported by practical mine site experience and safe work practices.
  • Skilled in continuous improvement, failure analysis, and use of workflow tools such as DBS or SAP.
  • Capable coach and mentor across office, classroom and site environments, with demonstrated leadership in high‑performing teams.
  • Experienced in electronic equipment installation procedures and applying advanced technical understanding to real‑world mining operations.
