Reporting to the Technical Product Specialist Supervisor, the Technical Product Specialist will join our Technology Department on a Fulltime basis at our Anderson Place Branch at our Perth Precinct.

 

To be proficient in this role the candidate requires extensive knowledge and understanding of both the onboard and office components of MineStar Command for Hauling, Fleet, and Terrain products, including the MineStar Controller & Builder roles and functions. While prior experience with MineStar systems is highly regarded, we also welcome applications from candidates who may not yet have had direct exposure to MineStar but possess a strong foundation in relevant skills and industry knowledge. Successful applicants will be supported with comprehensive training and upskilling opportunities to ensure they are fully equipped to thrive in their new role. Candidates with experience in designing and maintaining IT networks, databases, software development and/or comparable OEM fleet and mine management systems are also encouraged to apply.

 

Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5 Hours per day (including meal break)

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide high level specialist support and services to customers on a range of Caterpillar technology products such as MineStar office
  • Troubleshoot integrated systems ranging from basic machine sensors to advanced onboard control units, displays, network diagnosis, application servers, and database issues.
  • Providing development and support to the WesTrac Autonomous Training Facility located in Collie
  • Consult with all stakeholders through identification and scoping of technical compatibilities and requirements of the MineStar products to ensure successful upgrades and new deployments for customers mine sites

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience within a similar role and environment
  • Advanced knowledge of the MineStar office environment and controller or builder functions on MineStar sites.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT networks, databases, active directories and software development.
  • Knowledge of VM environments and virtualisation
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) with the ability to cultivate relationships at all levels
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot, ideally in a support environment
