Your new role as a workshop Plant Mechanic will report to the Workshop Supervisor in a permanent full time residential position based in Perth. 

As a Plant Mechanic you will work on Caterpillar heavy earthmoving equipment, performing a variety of tasks. These can include assembly or reassembly of components, dealer provided option installations, maintenance and build ups to customers specification ensuring optimum safety and efficiency throughout the entire build.

Location: Perth Branch (near the Airport)
 
Roster: 5 days on, 2 days off – 10.5 hrs each day (inc. of 30 minutes meal break)
 
What You’ll Do: 
•    Perform scheduled and daily maintenance servicing and inspections of mobile mining earthmoving and ancillary plant equipment.
•    Modifying earthmoving machinery for customer requested modifications.
•    Assembly of new construction earth moving machinery and attachments.
•    Calibrations and commissioning of earthmoving machinery.
•    Pre-delivery and inspections of new earthmoving machinery.
•    Final machine detailing and cleaning prior to delivery.
•    Report faults/defects and complete service reports using CAT Inspect.
•    Forklift operations. 
•    Implement product improvement plan.
 
Skills & Experience: 
•    Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Technology trade certificate with post trade experience. 
•    High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (FL), Dogging (DG), Rigging (RG), Working at Heights (WAH), Confined Spaces (CSE).
•    Strong computer literacy with verbal and written communication skills.
•    Experience in maintenance servicing of heavy equipment (mobile plant / ancillary).
•    Excellent customer service and safety focused. 
•    Confident to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team.
