Plant Mechanic - Leading Hand - Flexi Parts

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Leading Hand Plant Mechanic will join our FlexiParts Department on a full-time basis at our Perth Airport location. This role involves, leading and motivating a crew of up to 10 employees. The individual will promote and encourage high safety standards and showcase a positive, can-do attitude. They will assist in training their team members and work alongside all members while dealing with high-volume work.

Department Overview: Flexi Parts & Mining Services specialises in powertrain overhauls, machine dismantling and rebuilds, radiator overhauling services, and undercarriage repairs. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality service and support, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of heavy equipment.

 

Roster: 5 On, 2 Off – Days  – 10hrs/day

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and motivate a crew of up to 10 employees within the Flexi Parts department.
  • Promote and encourage high safety standards and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Assist in training team members and work alongside them.
  • Manage and handle high-volume work efficiently.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Australian-recognised Trade Certificate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Good understanding of service reporting and service literature.
  • Team leadership experience with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Strong understanding of KPI metrics from task receipt to component dispatch
