Maintenance Planner
Perth Precinct, WA, AU
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Maintenance Planner schedules and coordinates all after sales maintenance and repairs in Heavy Construction Machines & Components Workshops, working with Customer Service and Workshop Supervisors to plan and execute repairs. The role ensures build bays, tooling, parts, labour, and external supplies are organised so work is completed on time and meets customer expectations.
Location: Perth Precinct
Roster: Monday–Friday, 10.5 hrs/day (incl. meal break)
What You’ll Do
- Lead by example, modelling WesTrac values and promoting a strong safety and accountability culture.
- Ensure all safety procedures, Life Saving Rules, and safe working practices are followed, including completing Safe Act Observations and reporting hazards.
- Develop and maintain accurate repair schedules by reviewing forecasts, confirming labour and resource availability, collaborating with Workshop Leaders, and keeping real‑time schedule tracking to meet customer timeframes.
- Monitor and report flat rate variances to ensure jobs remain within budget and cost recovery processes are followed in line with Work Order Policy.
- Support timely customer invoicing by managing variances effectively so monthly targets are met and budgets are maintained.
- Coordinate vendors to ensure supplies, services, and documentation are delivered accurately, safely, and on time, maintaining quality and compliance so repairs stay on schedule and meet customer requirements.
- Liaise with Stores and stakeholders to track repair progress, consolidate required parts, and support scheduled work delivery while maintaining strong relationships and meeting customer and project expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and actioning process enhancements, promoting CPS practices, and participating in CPS activities to improve workshop efficiency and team performance.
Skills & Experience
- Mechanical Trade Certificate required with minimum 2 years post qualification experience within a maintenance role
- 2–5 years’ experience in planning / scheduling, workshop coordination, or a similar technical planning role.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical and organisational skills.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical information quickly.
- Proficiency with MS Projects and Excel
