MCG Service Technician
Perth Precinct, WA, AU
Reporting into the Technology Operations Supervisor, the Machine Control Guidance Service Technician will join our Technology Operations department on a Full-Time basis based at our Perth Precinct branch. This role involves working on cutting edge technology with the world leader in mining automation including the installation, calibration, commissioning and ongoing support of the Technology range of systems on Caterpillar and other OEM machines in accordance with manufacturer standards.
Rosters:
FIFO: 8/6 Days & 7/7 Nights 12.5hrs excluding a .5hr lunch break & Metro: 4/3 & 5/2 Days 10.5hrs excluding a .5hr lunch break
What You’ll Do:
- Install, commission, and calibrate technology systems (MineStar suite, CAT Grade, DSS) on CAT and OEM equipment
- Audit machines to identify parts and installation needs
- Create and update technical documents, including test results and system configurations
- Provide on-site support, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Complete admin tasks like work orders, timekeeping, and site diaries
- Deliver excellent customer service and build strong client relationships
- Mentor and support less experienced technicians, sharing your knowledge and ensuring quality
Skills & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Electro Technology or relevant Trade Certificate coupled with a minimum 3 years’ experience in an Auto Electronic/ Communications/ Electronics Technician/ Mechanical Fitter role with demonstrated windows-based IT systems knowledge and understanding of networking principles.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and Technical Specifications
- Complete technical and administrative documentation to a high standard
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships
- Positive safety mindset to align with our values, and understanding of industry applicable safety standards (risk assessments, SWP)
- Prior experience utilising Technology products or similar Fleet Management Systems (Desired)
- Prior FIFO/DIDO/Regional mine site or similar exposure (Desired)
- Understanding of radio network communications (Desired)
