Reporting to the Business Unit Manager – Flexi Parts, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for creating certified, safe and legally compliant engineered transport frame solutions and the for the business unit’s internal and external customers.

Working alongside our operational teams and customers’ the requirement to develop solutions for our clients that are both functional and cost effective are imperative. This role also involves the project management of certified, safe and legally compliant Dealer Provided Options for internal and external customers.

 

Location: Flexi Parts - Perth Precinct

Roster: Monday to Friday, 10-hours/day (Full Time, Permanent)

 

To be successful the following is required: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 2 years post-qualification experience within an engineering position in a similar industry.
  • Familiarity with Australian and International design standards and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Ability to produce manual design calculations.
  • Ability to produce professional engineering documentation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong focus on safety practices.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Experience with AutoDesk Inventor.
  • Experience in finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Knowledge of safety and risk assessment.
  • Experience in design for fabrication and equipment manufacture.
  • Experience in the design of mining machinery and vehicles.
