Energy Solutions Specialist

Reporting into the Business Unit Manager- Electrical and Electrification, the Energy Solutions Specialist will join our team on a Full-Time basis at our Perth Airport Branch. This role involves developing and promoting product support solutions for both Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar power generation businesses in Western Australia. Your responsibilities will encompass power generation, battery energy storage systems, micro-grids, and renewables.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and WesTrac’s external partners, you will lead strategic initiatives to grow equipment sales in power generation, energy storage systems, and associated installation and maintenance services. This includes delivering robust after-sales support through ongoing maintenance and service solutions, aligned with WesTrac’s commitment to providing comprehensive, whole-of-life equipment management. Your efforts will help make equipment ownership as seamless, profitable, and safe as possible, while upholding WesTrac’s “easy to buy, easy to own” philosophy and consistently delivering exceptional customer service to both current and future clients.
Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including meal break)
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate closely with all current and future power generation customers to identify sales leads and submit support proposals.
- Target growth in existing and new accounts strategically, including field service revenue generation.
- Work alongside the WesTrac Sales organisation as the Energy Solutions Specialist, contributing to the development of sales strategies by market segment.
- Collaborate with operations to identify the necessary skill sets for successful strategy execution.
- Guide customers toward proven solutions through consultative approaches.
- Assist the Business Unit Manager – Electrical and Electrification as needed, ensuring seamless service provision to customers by working closely with Sales Mining and Account Managers.
Skills & Experience:
- Electrical Trade Certificate and 15 years of industry-related experience within the power generation, specifically in a product support or technical sales role, with at least 5 years in a similar Account Manager role.
- Solid commercial experience in the field of Power Generation.
- Thorough understanding of the ‘Whole of Life Cost’ modelling concept.
- Intermediate computer literacy (proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite).
- Advanced communication skills, encompassing verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities.
- Intermediate negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
- Capacity to work successfully within a team as well as autonomously.
- Excellent organisational skills, enabling management of fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to meet tight deadlines.
- High level of initiative and strong problem-solving skills, ensuring follow-through on required actions.
- Efficient data analysis skills for negotiating sales and compiling performance reports.
- Tertiary qualification in either engineering, business, or commercial disciplines. (Desirable)
