Position Summary: 

WesTrac are seeking an Energy Solutions Specialist to join our team.

 

We are seeking an Energy Solutions Specialist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will develop and promote product support solutions for both Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar power generation businesses in Western Australia. Your responsibilities will encompass power generation, battery energy storage systems, micro-grids, and renewables. The overarching goal is to deliver exceptional customer service to current and future customers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Lead Identification: Collaborate closely with all current and future power generation customers to identify sales leads and submit support proposals.
  • Strategic Account Growth: Target growth in existing and new accounts strategically, including field service revenue generation.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Work alongside the WesTrac Sales organisation as the Energy Solutions Specialist, contributing to the development of sales strategies by market segment.
  • Skill Set Alignment: Collaborate with operations to identify the necessary skill sets for successful strategy execution.
  • Consultative Approach: Guide customers toward proven solutions through consultative approaches.
  • Support for Business Unit Manager: Assist the Business Unit Manager – Electrical and Electrification as needed, ensuring seamless service provision to customers by working closely with Sales Mining and Account Managers.

 

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate and 15 years of industry-related experience within the power generation, specifically in a product support or technical sales role, with at least 5 years in a similar Account Manager role.
  • Solid commercial experience in the field of Power Generation.
  • Thorough understanding of the ‘Whole of Life Cost’ modelling concept.
  • Intermediate computer literacy (proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Advanced communication skills, encompassing verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Intermediate negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Capacity to work successfully within a team as well as autonomously.
  • Excellent organisational skills, enabling management of fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of initiative and strong problem-solving skills, ensuring follow-through on required actions.
  • Efficient data analysis skills for negotiating sales and compiling performance reports.

 

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in either engineering, business, or commercial disciplines.
