About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Electrician to join our New Construction Machines team, reporting directly to the Workshop Supervisor.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the efficient delivery of high-quality new Caterpillar equipment, ensuring all electrical systems and components are installed and functioning to the highest safety and performance standards.

 

About Perth Branch

WesTrac’s Perth Branch New Construction Machines workshop is dedicated to delivering cost-effective, high-quality assembly, maintenance, and customer solutions for Caterpillar equipment. The team is committed to excellence, working collaboratively to meet customer specifications and industry standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety, innovation, and operational efficiency.

 

Rosters: 5days on, 2days off - 10.5hrs (Inclusive of a 30min upaid lunch break)

 

What you'll do:

  • Perform a wide range of auto electrical tasks on Caterpillar heavy earthmoving equipment, ensuring all work is completed to OEM specifications and safety standards.

 

  • Undertake assembly and reassembly of electrical systems and components, including the installation of dealer-supplied options and specialised equipment tailored to customer requirements.

 

  • Assist with the busy workload to meet the required deadlines and schedules

 

  • Carry out machine fit-outs, upgrades, and modifications to optimise performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

 

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to manage workflow priorities and meet production deadlines within a fast-paced workshop environment.

 

  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout all stages of the build and assembly process.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Australian-recognised Auto Electrical Trade Certificate.
  • Previous experience working on heavy earthmoving equipment an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
