Field Service Supervisor

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Field Service Supervisor is accountable for the ownership of the customer experience by providing the complete customer care experience regarding WesTrac service, repair and general service provision queries in relation to the allocated area of service/equipment.

 

This position is open to both FIFO and residential candidates. For those choosing to live locally in Newman, WesTrac offers company-provided housing, inclusive of paid water and utilities, making it a compelling opportunity for candidates seeking lifestyle balance and long-term community living.

 

Roster:  9days on 5days off 12.5 hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)

Location: Newman – residential or FIFO ex Perth

 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and supervise a team of field service technicians to deliver exceptional service, repairs, and support across the allocated service area
  • Manage work order scheduling and execution to meet productivity, quality, and compliance targets set by WesTrac and Caterpillar
  • Drive a positive customer experience by building strong relationships and exceeding expectations in a dynamic, high-paced environment
  • Ensure the team’s adherence to safety standards, OH&S policies, and conduct thorough quality risk assessments
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external clients to streamline service delivery and parts management
  • Utilise Caterpillar systems and computer-based platforms to oversee job status, reporting, and service documentation
  • Provide coaching, leadership, and hands-on support to develop team capabilities and foster a high-performing culture

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Heavy Duty (HD) trade professional with extensive supervisory experience in mechanical or dealership settings
  • Proven leadership in similar industries, with the ability to inspire, motivate and guide high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of OH&S protocols and risk assessments, ensuring safety in high-risk environments
  • Skilled in managing dynamic workloads and competing priorities through effective planning and time management
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with a customer-first mindset
  • Experienced in warehouse, parts, or distribution operations with solid Caterpillar systems and product knowledge
  • Technically proficient in computer systems for job tracking, reporting, and service coordination
