About the Role

Due to our continued growth of CAT Equipment in the Mudgee region, WesTrac have two opportunities for experienced Technical Specialists to join our Mining Support Teams as Fleet Specialists, based at either of our top-tier mining client sites.

Reporting to the Mining Support Managers, you will play a crucial role in maximising our customer's return on their CAT fleet investments. Your responsibilities will include providing technical support, offering advice on equipment optimisation, and analysing fleet performance data to drive improvements in overall asset performance.

As a driven and skilled Technical Specialist, you will possess strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills. This position provides the exciting opportunity to work closely with Dealer and Caterpillar Product Groups and SME’s, affording the ability to influence and have firsthand access to industry leading continuous improvements.

These roles are offered as full-time permanent positions working Monday to Friday with the option to relocate to the Mudgee Region and/or DIDO with local accommodation. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Develop and maintain key customer relationships with each allocated site
• Use fleet performance data to boost asset performance.
• Conduct performance asset inspections and generate reports as needed.
• Work with customers to quickly resolve unplanned downtime.

• Review and suggest improvements for maintenance and operational practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment faults and recommend solutions.

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Familiarity with CAT systems like SIS, ET, SIMSi, and TMI is an advantage but not necessary.
• A current C Class Driver’s License.
• Great people skills with a strong background in relationship management.
• Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting equipment issues and finding effective solutions.
• Comfortable working alone or with a team.
• Excellent at staying organised and juggling multiple priorities.
• Proficient in analysing asset health and performance data, and generating detailed reports
• A strong safety mindset, focused on maintaining safety and following safety protocols.
