Workshop Supervisor – Mt Thorley Workshop
WesTrac is seeking a Supervisor to join our Rebuilds Workshop in Mt Thorley.
Our Rebuilds Workshop is responsible for completing machine overhauls and repairs on open-cut mining equipment for some of our biggest customers throughout NSW.
Reporting to the Area Manager, this role will see you responsible for the safe and efficient day to day operations of the workshop. You will lead a large team of plant mechanics, apprentices and trades assistants to ensure all machines leaving the workshop are in optimal working order. This role will see you working alongside other supervisors and our project management team to ensure work orders are completed on time and to the highest quality standard.
This is a Monday – Friday role, dayshift only.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of tradespeople and apprentices and allocate work to ensure project timelines are met
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the business.
- Promote and demonstrate safety behaviours and reporting processes to ensure an ongoing safe working environment and the resolution of identified hazards
- Provide support and advice to the team as required to ensure minimal delays in jobs
- Effectively manage work orders to ensure productivity targets and quality standards are met
Skills & Experience
- Mechanical or Auto Electrical trade qualification
- Experience with mobile plant maintenance essential
- Computer literate with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office package
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage time and delegate effectively
- Demonstrated ability to coach team members for high performance
- Values based approach to leadership
- Familiarity with Caterpillar earth moving equipment or similar is highly desirable
