Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking experienced Plant Mechanics/Diesel-Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our Rebuilds Workshop in Mt Thorley team!

Our Rebuilds Workshop is responsible for completing machine overhauls and repairs on open-cut mining equipment for some of our biggest customers throughout NSW. With machines ranging from M Series Graders through to Off-Highway Trucks, this role will grow your diagnostic and mechanical expertise as you work alongside our team strip entire machines, repair components, and ensure the machine is in optimal working order once rebuilt. This exciting opportunity would be well suited to those wanting to further their career and open the door to new opportunities such as Field Service roles.

 

Roster’s and Remuneration

Option 1: Monday – Friday (rotating days/nights)

  • Roster Pattern: 2 weeks of days, followed by 2 weeks of nights.
  • Day shift: 0600-1630, Night shift: 1600-0230
  • Annual earnings up to $200,000

Option 2: Lifestyle Roster (14/28)- working half the year

  • Roster Pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 5 off, 2 days, 3 nights, 4 off, 3 days 2 nights, 5 off.
  • Day shift: 0600 – 1830, Night shift: 1800 - 0630
  • Annual earnings up to $160,000

Please note: the rates above are a guide only and each candidate will be assessed based on competencies and previous experience.

 

What we're looking for

As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:

  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or mechanical trade qualification with heavy industry experience
  • Unrestricted Drivers Licence
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar surface mining equipment (desirable)
  • Experience rebuilding mobile mining equipment and / or components desirable
  • Solutions focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements 
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Close attention to detail and ability to perform tasks to meet Caterpillar quality standards
  • Team oriented with proven ability to meet set deadlines
