Trade Upgrade with WesTrac 

 

WesTrac is seeking experienced Mechanics to join our team in Mount Thorley!

 

With a key focus on maintenance, diagnostics and servicing our Trade Upgrade program gives Light Vehicle and Heavy Vehicle Mechanics the opportunity to upskill and receive in-house training from some of the best tradespeople our industry has to offer! As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO-50737), our Training Institute will enable you to complete a Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology whilst gaining valuable on the job experience. These roles will give you the opportunity to strengthen your Caterpillar knowledge, upgrade your skills and work alongside a skilled team to ensure our customer’s needs are met.

 

Our Rebuilds Workshops specialise in the complete overhaul of a range of CAT machines from D10 Dozers through to 789 Off-Highway Trucks, giving you a variety of exposure.

 

Roster & Remuneration

  • Monday – Friday, overtime available
  • 2 weeks day shift, 2 weeks night shift 
  • Annual earnings from $136,000+ (excluding superannuation) 

 

*Upon successful completion of your Trade Upgrade your remuneration will be reviewed for increase where applicable. Each candidate will be assessed based on their skills and experience 

 

Essential Criteria

To be considered for one of these positions you will need: 

  • Experience on mine sites is advantageous
  • Heavy Vehicle experience is essential
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is desirable
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent diagnostic and repair skills
  • Cert III Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Cert III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Cert III Agricultural Mechanical Technology
