WesTrac is seeking an experienced Asset Reliability Specialist/Engineer to join our Mining Support Team as a Site Performance Specialist, based onsite at Mt Thorley Warkworth.

Reporting to the Mining Support Manager, you will play a pivotal role in helping our customer maximise the performance, efficiency, and longevity of their CAT fleet. This position is integral to delivering high‑quality technical support, providing expert advice on equipment optimisation, and leveraging fleet performance data to drive continuous improvement across site operations.

As a proactive and results‑driven Site Performance Specialist, you will bring strong analytical capability, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for enhancing mining performance. You will thrive in a dynamic environment where collaboration, innovation, and customer focus are key.

This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday, with relocation assistance available for candidates interested in joining us in the Hunter Valley region.


Key Responsibilities  

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our key client, ensuring ongoing trust and collaboration.
  • Analyse fleet performance data to identify opportunities to enhance asset reliability and efficiency.
  • Conduct wear management inspections and produce high‑quality technical reports.
  • Work closely with the client to diagnose and minimise unplanned downtime.
  • Review, assess, and recommend improvements to maintenance and operational practices.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide timely, effective technical solutions.


Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a Mechanical Trade Certificate.
  • Familiarity with CAT systems like DBS, SIS, ET, SIMSi, and TMI is a big plus.
  • A current C Class Driver’s License.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Proven capability in diagnosing equipment faults and developing practical solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously or within a team environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing asset health and performance data, and preparing detailed reporting.
  • A strong safety‑first mindset with a commitment to upholding WesTrac safety standards and procedures.
