About the Opportunity 

Due to an internal move, WesTrac is seeking an experienced leader for the position of Regional Manager – Hunter Valley.  

As Regional Manager, you will be accountable for the establishment and execution of the strategic plan with a sharp focus on team engagement, customer satisfaction, quality and safety. Your previous experience will enable you to drive operational excellence and provide leadership to a team of Operational Managers. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities in driving large, high performing teams and understand the critical role of customer experience in growing market share and customer loyalty.  

Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, you will lead a team of 5 direct reports with a total team size of circa 230 spanning across the Hunter Valley and Mudgee region.  

This position will require ad hoc travel across the Hunter Valley and Western Region of NSW will be required.  

Role Accountabilities 

  • Be a visible, approachable and engaging leader  

  • Cascade strategic objectives and track progress regularly  

  • Support and coach a team of Branch Managers 

  • Oversee operational performance to maintain WesTrac’s position as a market leader and leading Caterpillar dealership  

  • Manage the P&L and budgets  

  • Maintain customer relationships to expand market share and boost customer loyalty 

  • Lead forecasting and planning processes to mitigate risks and ensure business units are positioned to capitalise on new growth opportunities 

  • Engage cross functionally to embed improvement initiatives  

  • Measure performance of teams in accordance with service contracts and internal KPI’s  

About You 

  • Commitment to safety and knowledge of best practice in operational environments 

  • Commercial acumen with experience in managing budgets and P&L’s 

  • Ability to influence and lead through change  

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills  

  • Proven ability to create, implement and deliver strategic objectives across a complex operation with dispersed workforce 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships  

  • Experience in a leadership role within the construction, manufacturing or mining sectors is highly favourable  

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as business or engineering
