Are you a skilled Plant Mechanic who takes pride in precision, quality, and seeing a machine through from teardown to final commissioning? Join our Mt Thorley Rebuilds Workshop and play a vital role in delivering industry‑leading CAT machine rebuilds for one of the world’s largest CAT dealers.

In this workshop‑based position, you’ll work as part of an experienced and highly skilled team, rebuilding, repairing, and commissioning Caterpillar equipment to WesTrac’s world‑class standards. You’ll take ownership of your work across the entire rebuild lifecycle - ensuring every machine that leaves our facility is safe, reliable, and ready for peak performance.

Rates & Roster

Rates:

• Hourly rates from $60+ (inclusive of location and shift allowance)
• Overtime rates from $89+ (inclusive of location and shift allowance)

Roster Pattern:

• Lifestyle roster – working 14/28
• Combination of day & night shifts – 12.5 hour shifts
• 5 weeks of annual leave!

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out strip‑downs, rebuilds, repairs, and reassembly of CAT machinery and major components
• Performing inspections, diagnostics, and quality checks throughout the rebuild process
• Completing scheduled maintenance and adjustments in line with rebuild timelines and customer requirements
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
• Working collaboratively with other Plant Mechanics and the Workshop Supervisor to deliver exceptional results

What We’re Looking For

• Australian‑recognised mechanical trade qualification
• Proven experience in machine rebuilds, major component overhauls, or machine assembly
• Experience with Caterpillar or comparable surface mining equipment
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
• A proactive, safety‑first mindset and high attention to detail
• Unrestricted Driver’s Licence
