Join our Mt Thorley Rebuilds Workshop and be part of a highly skilled, multitrade team delivering industryleading CAT machine rebuilds to worldclass standards. As part of a diverse, multitrade workshop team—Plant Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, and Auto Electricians—you’ll support the full rebuild lifecycle from teardown to commissioning, ensuring every machine is delivered safely, reliably, and ready for peak performance.

  • $60/hr+ (incl. location/shift allowances) + OT rates, paid fortnightly Lifestyle roster:
  • Mix of day & night 12.5hr shifts, 5 weeks annual leave – work only half the year!
  • Workshopbased OEM rebuilds on CAT fleets, modern facility, stable and experienced team

 

What you’ll do

Plant Mechanics

  • Strip, rebuild and reassemble CAT machines and major mechanical components
  • Conduct inspections, diagnostics and quality checks throughout the rebuild lifecycle
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and mechanical adjustments to meet specifications
  • Maintain a clean, safe and wellorganised workshop
  • Collaborate closely with Supervisors and crosstrade colleagues to deliver quality rebuilds on time

 

Auto Electricians

  • Diagnose, repair and rebuild electrical, electronic and control systems on CAT equipment
  • Install, test and commission wiring harnesses, sensors, modules and telemetry systems
  • Perform electrical fault finding and verification during rebuild and commissioning stages
  • Maintain a clean, safe and wellorganised workshop
  • Collaborate closely with Supervisors and crosstrade colleagues to deliver quality rebuilds on time

 

What you’ll bring

  • Australian‑recognised mechanical trade and/or auto electrical (e.g., Cert III HD Plant)
  • Proven rebuilds/major component overhaul/assembly experience
  • CAT or comparable surface mining gear; strong diagnostics/fault‑finding
  • Proactive, safety‑first mindset; unrestricted driver’s licence
