Rebuilds Field Service Plant Mechanic – Mt Thorley

 

WesTrac is seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic to join our Rebuilds Workshop in a Field Service capacity. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will have a key focus on commissioning, delivering, and overseeing the handover of rebuilt CAT equipment.

This role will see you coordinating the onsite assembly and customisation of CAT machinery as well as acting as the onsite contact for our customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing routine maintenance tasks, and conducting meticulous inspections to ensure that all machines are in optimal working condition before being handed over to the customer.

 

Roster and Remuneration

  • Monday to Friday, day shift only
  • 50 hours per week
  • Annual earnings from $150,000+

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact, addressing customer requirements and providing excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate onsite assembly and customisation of CAT machinery based on customer specifications.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on CAT machinery to ensure optimal working condition before handover.
  • Provide travel support, visiting various locations in NSW to offer field service assistance and address customer needs.
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Mining Support Representatives and Project Coordinators, to manage customer requests and machine requirements, ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery process.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or mechanical trade qualification 
  • Familiar with Caterpillar Equipment
  • Exposure to SIS and/or ET
  • Excellent diagnostic and repair skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure deliveries are made on time and to customer standard
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in the field and in a team
  • Unrestricted Drivers License
