Are you an experienced Plant Mechanic who thrives on problem‑solving, tackling breakdowns, and getting customers back up and running? 

WesTrac is looking for skilled and motivated Field Service Plant Mechanics to join our high‑performing team supporting customers across the Hunter Valley. As part of our Field Service crew, every day is different!

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you’ll travel between customer sites, diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and provide expert support on Caterpillar machinery - all while keeping safety front of mind. If you enjoy working independently, thinking on your feet, and taking pride in delivering fast, reliable solutions, this role is for you.

Roster & Remuneration

  • Lifestyle Roster – 14/28 day and night shifts
  • Day Shift: 6:30am – 7:00pm
  • Night Shift: 6:30pm – 7:00am
  • Potential earnings up to $220,000 + tool‑of‑trade vehicle + phone + laptop

What We’re Looking For

  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant + Certificate of Proficiency essential
  • Strong Caterpillar product knowledge and mobile plant maintenance experience
  • Excellent diagnostic and repair skills, with a commitment to delivering outstanding service
  • A positive, proactive attitude and unwavering commitment to safe work practices
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Please note: Applicants with site bans are not eligible for Field Service positions
