Field Service Plant Mechanic - HMS & Drills

Are you a highly skilled Plant Mechanic with extensive experience working on hydraulic mining shovels and drills?

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a HMS and Drills Specialist. Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, this role offers the opportunity to apply your advanced diagnostic capabilities and in-depth product knowledge to deliver high-level service and breakdown support to our valued customers.

In this autonomous role, you will be responsible for:

• Performing complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on hydraulic mining equipment and drills.
• Ensuring all work is completed to Caterpillar standards and in alignment with WesTrac’s safety-first culture.
• Providing expert technical support and solutions in the field, often in challenging and remote environments.
• Maintaining accurate service records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience with Caterpillar 6040, 6060, and 6090 models will be highly regarded.

Roster & Remuneration

• Monday to Thursday (week one), Tuesday to Friday (week two)
• 12.5 hour shifts – day shift only
• Annual earnings from $154,000+
• Tool of trade vehicle + phone + laptop supplied
• Other roster options available based on candidate experience

Role Requirements 

• CERT III Mobile Plant Qualification + Certificate of Proficiency essential
• Caterpillar product knowledge and maintenance experience 
• Excellent diagnostic and repair skills and a strong commitment to service excellence 
• Excellent attitude to your work, and dedication to safe work practices 
• Applicants with site bans are ineligible for Field Service Positions
