Field Follow Plant Mechanic - Mt Thorley
 

Join our Mt Thorley Rebuilds Workshop as a Field Follow and take our customer experience to the next level!

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role has a key focus on commissioning, delivering, and overseeing the handover of rebuilt CAT equipment.

As a Field Follow, you will assist the Workshop team in the assembly and delivery of CAT machinery whilst acting as the onsite contact for our customer whilst onsite. You will work alongside our skilled Plant Mechanics to diagnose faults, perform routine maintenance tasks, and conduct meticulous inspections to ensure that all machines are in optimal working condition before returning to site.

With extensive mechanical aptitude and a safety-first approach to everything you do, this role is best suited to those that love to problem solve and spend their days diagnosing faults.


Roster and Remuneration

  • Monday to Friday, day shift only
  • Annual earnings ranging from $160,000+

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact, addressing customer requirements and providing excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate onsite assembly and customisation of CAT machinery based on customer specifications.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on CAT machinery to ensure optimal working condition before handover.
  • Provide travel support, visiting various locations in NSW to offer field service assistance and address customer needs.
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Mining Support Representatives and Project Coordinators, to manage customer requests and machine requirements, ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery process.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or mechanical trade qualification 
  • Familiar with Caterpillar Equipment
  • Exposure to SIS and/or ET highly regarded
  • Excellent diagnostic and repair skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure deliveries are made on time and to customer standard
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in the field and in a team
  • Unrestricted Drivers License
