Field Service Auto Electrician – Hunter Valley Region
WesTrac is on the lookout for a talented Field Service Auto Electrician to join our team and deliver expert support to our valued customers across the Hunter Valley.
In this fast-paced field role, you’ll report directly to the Field Service Supervisor and take charge of diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and inspecting a diverse fleet of CAT equipment—ranging from civil construction machinery to large-scale mining machines. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be key in ensuring every machine operates at peak performance, helping our customers maintain safety, efficiency, and uptime across their operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose electrical faults and perform repairs on CAT machinery
- Carry out routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance
- Deliver high-quality service with a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction
- Work independently in the field while staying connected with the broader WesTrac team
Roster & Remuneration
- Lifestyle roster, working 14/28 shifts
- Minimum hourly rate: $59+
- Minimum overtime rate: $88+
- Tool of trade vehicle, laptop + phone supplied
- Paid overtime for all additional hours worked
Rates are indicative and will be based on your skills and experience.
What We’re Looking For
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology & Certificate of Proficiency essential
- Tier 4 emission exposure advantageous
- Proven experience with Caterpillar equipment and maintenance procedures
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills with a commitment to service excellence
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- A proactive attitude and dedication to safe work practices
- Please note: Applicants with site bans are not eligible for Field Service roles
