Plant Mechanic - Field Service

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisors, the Field Service Plant Mechanic will assist in the diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing of Caterpillar products. Your responsibility will involve visiting customer sites throughout the Karratha Region, carrying out repairs, maintenance and servicing and managing work orders. You will be required to carry out product improvement plans and product support programs whilst maintaining and operating in a safe work environment.  

Westrac Karratha is an authorised Caterpillar dealership where you can find a wide range of Cat products, parts, services and technologies. Our Karratha team provide Cat machinery solutions to suit any earthmoving business, including both new and used equipment sales, heavy equipment rental, as well as parts, servicing, and merchandise.

Location: Karratha Region

Residential Roster: 
       10/4 (10 days on, 4 off) 10 hrs each day, plus 30 mins break 
       Housing package maybe offered for a suitable applicant to relocate.
 
What you’ll do:
•      Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, and inspections of mobile mining, earthmoving and   
       ancillary plant equipment.
•      Perform diagnostics and fault-finding procedures using the latest in CAT diagnostic  
       technology.
•      Interpret machine data and maintain efficiency on all repairs.
•      Implementation of systems upgrades 
•      Carry out product improvement plans and product support programs 
•      Strive to uphold Westrac’s SPARC values & Lifesaving Rules to ensure a positive and safe   
       work environment.

Skills & Experience:
•      Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate with similar post trade    
       experience
•      Valid Australian Driver’s License and LR license (as a minimum) is essential
•      High Risk Work Licence - (i.e. LF, DG, WP, WAH)
•      Refrigerant Handling License (Preferred but not essential) 
•      Proficient at diagnostic and fault-finding skills through CAT SIS & CAT ET
•      Strong commitment to continuous improvement principles
•      Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an isolated and remote environment
