Reporting into Field Service Supervisors, the Field Service Plant Mechanic will join our Regional team on a Full Time basis at our Karratha location. This role involves assisting in the diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing of Caterpillar products. Your responsibilities will include visiting customer sites throughout the Karratha Region, carrying out repairs, maintenance, and servicing, and managing work orders.
Department Overview: The Karratha Department specializes in providing comprehensive maintenance, repair, and diagnostic services for Caterpillar products. Our team is dedicated to supporting customers throughout the Karratha Region, ensuring optimal machine performance and availability. We focus on delivering high-quality service, implementing product improvement plans, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Roster: 12 On, 9 Off – Days – 10 hrs/day OR 14 On, 7 Off – Days – 10 hrs/day FIFO from Major Cities
OR 10 On, 4 Off – Days – 10 hrs/day (Residential Only) – housing package may be available
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Caterpillar products.
- Visit customer sites throughout the Karratha Region to perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing.
- Manage work orders efficiently.
- Implement product improvement plans and support programs while maintaining a safe work environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate.
- Dealership or field diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and seek out work opportunities without direct supervision.
- Commitment to assisting customers in achieving machine availability.
- Previous dealership experience.
- Driver’s License, with LR or HR preferred.
- High Risk Work License (HRWL) such as LF, DG, WP.
- Working at Heights certification.
- Refrigerant Handling License (Desired)
