Your new role as a workshop Trades Assistant will report to the Workshop Supervisor in a permanent full time residential position based in Kalgoorlie. 

The Trades Assistant will provide essential ancillary support to the workshop team by assisting with various tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations for customer WIP. This role involves working closely with the workshop Leading Hands & Floor Personnel, performing general daily tasks & when required ad hoc requirements.

This WesTrac branch is located in Kalgoorlie WA and is an authorised Caterpillar dealership where you can find a wide range of Cat products, parts, services and technologies. Our Kalgoorlie team provide Cat machinery solutions to suit any earthmoving business, including both new and used equipment sales, heavy equipment rental, as well as parts, servicing, and merchandise.

Location: Kalgoorlie – must be residential or willing to relocate with own housing
 
Roster: 8 days on, 6 off – 10.5 hrs each day (inc. of 30 minutes meal break)
 
What You’ll Do:

•    Support with preparation of materials, tools, equipment and delivery or collection of items.
•    Maintenance of tools and equipment ensuring cleanliness and proper storage.
•    Organising and tidying work areas, laydown bays, WIP.
•    Loading and unloading of materials and parts around the yard.
•    Adhere to safety work practices, process and procedures.
•    Manage inventories such as chemicals, consumables and ordering supplies.

Skills & Experience:
 
•    Excellent attention to detail and meticulous.
•    Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.
•    Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in the trade.
•    Experience in a similar work environment or service mining industry
•    Ability to work effectively within a team & autonomously
•    Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.
