Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, in this role as a serviceperson you will perform Caterpillar product improvement plans and product support programs as well as identifying and recommending preventative maintenance on equipment int he Goldfields region.You will carry out repairs, maintenance and servicing on a range of CAT equipment such as 988 Loaders and various Excavators, along with Skid Steers and other equipment at our Klagoorlie Workshop when not out in the field.

 

Location: Kalgoorlie - Residential
Roster: 10 days on, 4 days off - 10 hour shifts.

 

The motivated Service Person will be part of a busy maintenance team in the Kalgoorlie branch. As a service person you will carry out integral maintenance duties such as (but not limited to)

 

  • Daily pre-starts, minor servicing and maintenance works to heavy machinery across various sites in the Goldfields area.

  • Operate service truck - utilise hose reels for fuel, water & oils.

  • Climb over the machinery to access and check all critical points, fluid levels and refilling points.

  • Inspect equipment when servicing and refuelling for defects & supply a report on findings.

  • Record, grease, and oil used on services when carried out.

  • Supply suggestions of inventory of spare parts that customers may require on site.

  • Identify possible opportunities that will improve the maintenance function and report to supervisor.

 

 

To be successful the following is required: 

 

  • Previous experience in a Serviceperson or similar position.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an isolated and remote environment.

  • Ability to work and seek out work opportunities without continuous direct supervision.

  • Heavy equipment product knowledge - Caterpillar would be seen as highly advantageous.

  • HR Licence, Working at Heights & Confined Spaces, Dogging & Basic Rigging, Forklift tickets/licences highly desirable.
