Plant Mechanic - KCGM - Residential

Reporting into the Workshop Supervisor, the Plant Mechanic will join our KCGM department on a full-time permanent basis located in Kalgoorlie. This role is responsible for carrying scheduled maintenance, service and repairs including diagnosing all Caterpillar machines.


About Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM):

WesTrac KCGM, located in the Goldfields in Kalgoorlie, partners with Northern Star for maintenance. Our team handles mobile workshop and on-site repairs for a large machine fleet, performing servicing, planned shuts, and minor repairs. 


Roster: 7days, 3off, 7nights, 4 off – 11.5hrs each day (inclusive of 30 mins meal break)


What You’ll Do: 

  • Perform scheduled and daily maintenance servicing and inspections of mobile mining earthmoving and ancillary plant equipment.
  • Maintain accurate lubricant records and machine hours of each equipment. 
  • Providing support to our Tradespersons through the maintenance process safely and efficiently.
  • Report faults/defects and complete service reports using CAT Inspect.
  • Forklift operations.
  • Implement product improvement plan.

 
Skills & Experience: 

  • Australian Drivers Licence – Ligh Rigid OR Medium Rigid.
  • Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant trade certificate with post trade experience.
  • High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (FL), Dogging (DG), Rigging (RG), Working at Heights (WAH), Confined Spaces (CSE).
  • Strong computer literacy with verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in maintenance servicing of heavy equipment (mobile plant / ancillary).
  • Excellent customer service and safety focused.
  • Confident to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team.
