Maintenance Planner

Reporting to the Contract Supervisor, the Maintenance Planner will join our team on a fulltime basis under our MPA contract at KCGM Kalgoorlie.

The Maintenance Scheduler/Planner creates and communicates 7–14-day maintenance plans, coordinating with the workshop and customer to ensure planned work is executed and production is aligned.

 

Roster – Monday – Friday Days, 12.5 Hrs (Including unpaid meal break)

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, conduct required CCOs, and report all incidents and near misses in line with WesTrac policy
  • Manage and maintain AMT daily, oversee machine‑hour reporting, secure POs, support and train the team as AMT SME, contribute to reviews, and recommend maintenance strategy improvements
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements, actioning recommendations, and promoting Caterpillar Production Systems (CPS) across the maintenance team
  • Plan, schedule and resource weekly maintenance and repairs, manage backlog, prepare work packs, maintain safety requirements, monitor asset condition and component life, and report emerging fleet issues to support reliability.
  • Coordinate closely with the Maintenance Planner and Contract Supervisor to align strategies, ensure effective handover of component work, review closed work quality, and keep AMT data accurate for informed maintenance decisions.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in administration, coordination or scheduling roles.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance (advantageous but not essential).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, fostering positive relationships.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Confidence in engaging, negotiating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to interpret data and analyze information effectively.
