Your new role as a workshop Boilermaker will report to the Workshop Supervisor in a permanent residential position based at KCGM mine site in Kalgoorlie.

 

The Boilermaker is responsible for carrying out scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs to Caterpillar fleets, completion of service reports, identifying parts requirements whilst maintaining safe work practices and a safe work environment.

 

WesTrac KCGM, in partnership with Northern Star, is dedicated to maintaining a large fleet of machines through scheduled servicing, planned shutdowns, and minor in pit repairs to ensure Northern Star mining operations runs as smoothly as possible as our onsite team excels in mobile workshop and on-site repairs

 

Roster: 7 days, 3 off, 7 nights, 4 off– 12hrs/day (inc. of 30 minutes meal break)

 

What You’ll Do:

 

• Fabricate and repair structural steel and equipment components in line with customers and Westrac’s specification.

• Read and interpret schematics and specifications accurately, source technical information through reference manuals, technical bulletins and internal based systems.

• Manage and advise appropriate tooling fit for service.

• Maintain and set clean and safe working environment.

• Be a dynamic team player with a high commitment to working safety.

• Liaise with various site/local clients on their requirements in an effective manner

 

Skills & Experience:

 

• Australian recognised Boilermaker or Fabrication Trade Certificate (essential)

• Heavy-Rigid Licence (essential)

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG and Arc welding techniques

• Experience working on large mining machinery or heavy fabrication.
