Reporting into the Workshop Supervisor, the Boilermaker will join our KCGM team on a fulltime basis at our KCGM branch. 

 

Department Overview:  WesTrac KCGM, located in the Goldfields in Kalgoorlie, partners with Northern Star for maintenance. Our team handles mobile workshop and on-site repairs for a large machine fleet, performing servicing, planned shuts, and minor repairs.

 

Rosters: 7 days on, 3 days off, 7 nights on, 4 off 11.5hrs (Including lunch break)

 

What you'll do:

  • Working on a variety of large mining equipment across Machine Rebuilds and New Machines.
  • Some of the main techniques used to complete these tasks will be through; mainly flux core, solid wire, tig welding and arc air gouging. 
  • Other tasks may include utilising our forklifts, dogging and rigging to move large pieces of equipment and/or components of machinery throughout the workshop. 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Australian Recognised Trade Qualification – Boilermaker Welder.
  • Sound knowledge of Caterpillar literature and work order systems.
  • HRWL – DG, RB, LT & WP highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and have a strong commitment to continuous improvement principles.
  • Previous mechanical experience working on Caterpillar products.
