Reporting into Workshop Supervisor, the Trade Assistant will join our Hydraulics Department on a Full Time basis at our South Guildford location. This role involves working alongside Tradespeople to assist with maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and machinery within our Hydraulics department. Key responsibilities include cleaning components, operating moving components, and performing light mechanical work as needed. Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously are crucial.

 

Department Overview: Our Hydraulics Department specializes in the maintenance, repair, and optimization of hydraulic systems and components. We provide comprehensive solutions to ensure the efficient operation of hydraulic machinery, focusing on safety, reliability, and performance. Our team of skilled technicians and engineers is dedicated to delivering high-quality service and support, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to meet the needs of our clients across various industries.

 

Roster: 5 On, 2 Off – 2 weeks dayshift 2 weeks nightshift – 10 hrs/day

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and machinery.
  • Clean components and operate moving components.
  • Perform light mechanical work where needed.
  • Ensure attention to detail and work autonomously.

 

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Trade Assistant.
  • Forklift License is essential; Dogging highly desired.
  • Experience with Caterpillar Dealership and engine overhauls is highly advantageous.
  • Good attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous use of safety and risk assessment tools such as Job Safety Analysis and Take 5's.
