Reporting into Workshop Supervisor, the Transmission Test Bench Operator will join our Powertrain Department on a Full Time basis at our Guildford location. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining test benches. You will conduct various tests on transmissions, control valves, and hydraulic pumps. Additionally, experience in testing, analysing data, and troubleshooting CAT transmissions, control valves, and hydraulic pumps is essential.

Department Overview: The Transmissions Store assembles Transmissions and Torque Converters to a "like-new" condition, ensuring customers achieve full component life. Upon arrival, components are stripped, assessed, and a CAR report is provided to customers detailing findings and costs. Once parts are ready, they are assembled, painted, and corrosion-wrapped for protection.

Roster: 5 On, 2 Off - 2 weeks dayshift, 2 weeks nightshift - 10 hrs/day

What You’ll Do:

• Set up, operate and maintaining test bench
• Conduct various tests on Transmissions, Control Valves and Hydraulic Pumps      
• Experience in testing, analysing data and troubleshoot CAT transmissions, Control Valves and Hydraulic Pumps 

Skills & Experience:

• Australian Recognised Plant Mechanic Trade Certificate
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
• Good understanding of service reporting and service literature.
• Heavy equipment product knowledge, with component change-out and overhaul experience (Desired)
• Strong alignment with WesTrac’s SPARC values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect, and Customer.
• Experience in completing rebuilds and overhauls on Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar heavy earthmoving equipment.
