Technical Service Supervisor

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Services Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the Technical Communicators to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality technical support, assisting with strategy delivery and process engagement with the wider WesTrac business, and the effective management and resolution of product-related issues across the business. The role plays a critical part in maintaining strong communication channels between Technical Services, operational teams, customers, and Caterpillar, ensuring product health concerns are identified, investigated, communicated, and resolved in a timely and professional manner.
Department Overview: Client Solutions – Technical Services - Act as a liaison between the dealership and Caterpillar on product issues, contributing to interim and permanent containment actions.
Roster – 5 Days on, Monday to Friday 8.5 Hrs / Day (including meal break)
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of technical experts in support and troubleshooting advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Act as the key liaison between the dealership and Caterpillar for technical issue management and escalation
- Mentor and develop team capability through knowledge share, coaching and collaboration
- Maintain accurate records within technical database
- Support workload management, team development, and operational priorities to meet business objectives
Skills & Experience:
- Trade qualification in heavy equipment repair or related field preferred
- Strong technical and product knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and operating systems would be advantageous
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a dealership, technical support, or supervisory environment
- Excellent diagnostic, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Project management skills and experience highly desirable
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight deadlines
- Intermediate computer literacy skills, including MS Office applications
