Technical Communicator

Reporting into Technical Services Manager, the Technical Communicator will join our Technical Services on a Full-Time, Permanent basis at our South Guildford location.

 

This role involves providing technical support by assisting with troubleshooting complex machine faults and providing repair advice.

 

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including meal break)

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with troubleshooting complex machine faults
  • Provide repair advice
  • Engage with various stakeholders including customers, management, product support and engineering teams, and the service department
  • Restore product functionality with a quick turnaround time

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Trade qualified as a Mechanic, Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, or Automotive Electrical Technician
  • Post-trade experience with proven ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Safe working practices knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and continuous improvement
  • Intermediate computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to mentor and work both in a team and independently
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice should it be required
  • Technical/product knowledge of Caterpillar equipment (Desired)
