Reporting to the Technical Services Manager the Technical Communicator is responsible for providing technical support by assisting with troubleshooting complex machine faults and providing repair advice. You will be engaging with various stakeholders including customers, management, our product support and engineering teams and the service department with the main objective of restoring product functionality with a quick turnaround time.

 

No single day will be the same as a Technical Communicator, you will enjoy a wide variety of work that offers diverse challenges to resolve unique situations, resulting in a high level of job satisfaction.

 

Location: South Guildford

Roster: Monday to Friday, 8.5HRS (Full-Time, Permanent)

 

To be successful the following is required: 

 

  • Trade qualified as a Mechanic, Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic or Automotive Electrical Technician.
  • 5 years of post-trade experience with proven ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Proven understanding of the importance of safe working practices.
  • Technical and product knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and operating systems will be an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical knowledge
  • Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify continuous improvement.
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to develop and mentor a workforce through transfer of knowledge.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to site at short notice to attend to investigations.
