Service Rebuild Advisor

Reporting to the Supervisor – CRC Engines, the Service Rebuild Advisor (SRA) will join our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) team on a full‑time basis. This role works hands‑on within the workshop environment, partnering closely with technicians throughout the strip‑down, cleaning, salvage, and assembly processes. You will play a critical role in assessing component reusability, ensuring quality standards, supporting failure analysis, and driving continuous improvement across the CRC.
Roster – Monday – Friday, 8.5 Hrs/Day (including meal break)
Location - Guilford
What You'll Do:
- Lead a strong safety culture by modelling safe behaviours, completing risk assessments, and ensuring full compliance with WesTrac and customer safety standards.
- Conduct detailed component inspections to determine parts reusability, salvage requirements, and approve completed repairs while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Provide technical coaching and mentoring to technicians, supporting capability development and ensuring consistent quality across the CRC.
- Perform Failure Analysis (FA), identify root causes, develop formal reports, and contribute to the CRC failure analysis database and corrective action planning.
- Drive continuous improvement by supporting CPS initiatives, completing CI cards, and implementing process and workflow enhancements.
Skills & Experience:
- Trade‑qualified with 5+ years post‑trade experience, ideally in Caterpillar component rebuilds.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced component knowledge and experience in failure analysis.
- Solid computer literacy, including MS Office and workshop systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and work effectively across teams.
- Strong organisational skills with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
