Reporting to the Area Manager – CRC Powertrain, the Service Rebuild Advisor (SRA) plays a critical role in ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and technical excellence during component rebuilds. This position focuses on parts reusability, salvage processes, Parts & report generation, and failure analysis, while providing technical guidance and mentoring to technicians across the CRC group. This role will be offered on a Full-Time basis.

 

 

Roster:  Mon – Fri 10.5 hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)

Location: South Guildford, WA

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with technicians during strip down, cleaning, and assembly processes, with a strong focus on parts reusability
  • Approve or reject parts for reuse based on visual and measurement tests; determine salvage processes for cost-effective repairs
  • Conduct final inspections and sign-off for component release after rebuild completion
  • Provide technical assistance with Failure Analysis (FA) reporting as well as Component Appraisal Reports
  • Mentor and coach technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in Caterpillar Production System (CPS) meetings and support CI card processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation for inspections, reuse approvals, and failure analysis findings

 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Trade qualification with minimum 5 years post-trade experience in component rebuilds
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and understanding of component salvage processes
  • Completed or willingness to undertake Caterpillar Applied Failure Analysis 1 training
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team

 

Desirable:

  • Caterpillar Applied Failure Analysis training
  • Experience in continuous improvement and lean methodologies
