Senior Systems Engineer

Reporting into the IT Systems Engineering Lead, the Senior Systems Engineer will join our IT Department on a full-time basis at our South Guildford office.
This role involves providing deep technical expertise to implement, operate, support, and maintain WesTrac’s operational IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance across systems.
Roster: Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours per day (including meal break)
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain and ensure high availability of enterprise-wide virtualisation systems and compute chassis environments (e.g., vSphere, Hyper-V)
- Administer, configure, and support enterprise shared business systems including Active Directory, storage, backups, monitoring, identity management, and messaging
- Deploy, manage, and maintain M365 applications, Intune, and Azure environments, ensuring license compliance
- Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure for WesTrac’s Data Centres, including documentation and disaster recovery planning
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers, and contribute to continuous improvement across systems engineering practices
Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Significant experience in a similar role within the ICT industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Windows Server Administration, and M365 (certified or working towards)
- Strong experience with Windows Server (Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, certificates, PowerShell scripting)
- M365 Administration (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune, Purview, retention policies)
- Experience with hypervisors (vSphere, Hyper-V) and enterprise system support
- Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills
- Experience with DELL and CISCO infrastructure (desirable)
- M365 Cloud Administration (desirable)
- Advanced PowerShell scripting (desirable)
