Ready to take the next step in your machining career? As a Second Class Machinist (Component Technician) within our Hydraulics & Components team, you will work with precision equipment, support rebuilds of critical Cat® components, and help keep Australia’s mining and construction industries moving.

This role is perfect for someone with machining experience (trade-qualified or unqualified) who wants to grow, learn, and be part of a high-performing workshop environment.

Roster & Location

  • South Guildford
  • 8 days on 6 days off, then 8 nights on 6 days off, 12.5 hrs per shift (inclusive of 30 min meal break)

 

What You Will Do

  • Operate Manual machines, such as Horizontal borers, lathes and mills to support the rebuilding and machining of hydraulic components.
  • Work with engineering drawings, measuring tools, and machining processes to achieve tight tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area using tools such as Job Safety Analysis and Take 5’s.
  • Contribute to a team that values precision, safety, and continuous improvement.

 

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Machining experience (trade qualification beneficial but not essential).
  • Experience in a mechanical workshop environment - component, engine, or heavy equipment exposure is highly regarded.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn from experienced machinists and fitters.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety.
  • Forklift licence essential; dogging/rigging tickets highly desirable (or willingness to obtain).
