Reporting to the Safety Trainer Lead, the Safety Trainer is responsible for implementing training programs that meet all business requirements. This is inclusive of training delivery, both metro and regional, and ensuring all training being delivered is of the highest quality and is contextualised to WesTrac needs. The Safety Trainer is accountable for working with external vendors where required.

 

The Safety Trainer will provide training support to both the wider L&D team, and the HSEQ department regarding safety training needs and solutions.

 

 

Location:  South Guildford

Roster:  Monday to Friday – 8.5 hours (including lunch break)

 

  • Provide safety training support and solutions across all business areas, including regional locations.
  • Monitor, maintain, and support the integrated Safety Management System for the WesTrac Institute, including audits, inspections, hazard management, training matrices, and safety meetings.
  • Develop and improve safety training materials, with a long‑term goal of expanding the RTO scope to deliver all safety‑related training internally.
  • Deliver high‑quality, engaging, and compliant safety training to WesTrac employees.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business to support and drive operational optimisation initiatives.

 

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
  • Worksafe Registered Assessor – desirable.
  • High Risk Work Licences (minimum LF, WP and DG).
  • Relevant safety training delivery certifications.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar training scheduling and delivery role, with strong exposure to safety systems and safe work practices.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to collate data, prepare reports, and present information clearly to management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including stakeholder consultation, negotiation, and the ability to build strong working relationships across multiple departments and locations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
