Are you passionate about heavy machinery and ready to take your career to the next level? WesTrac is offering an exciting opportunity for Plant Mechanics to join our New Machines Team at our Guildford workshop on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll be hands-on with the latest Caterpillar equipment—building, testing, and ensuring every machine meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

You’ll be part of a team that values innovation, reliability, and safety, helping drive productivity across Australia’s most demanding operations.

 

 Roster: Monday to Friday. 10.5 hours (including a meal break)

 

 What You’ll Do: 

  • Assemble and test the latest Caterpillar gear to meet top-tier performance and quality standards.
  • Carry out dealer-specified custom installations.
  • Collaborate with a high-performing team to manage and complete builds efficiently.
  • Champion safety in everything you do.

 

 Skills & Experience: 

  • A recognised Australian Trade Certificate in Plant Mechanic, Heavy Commercial Vehicle, or Light Vehicle.
  • Hands-on experience with mining, construction, agriculture, hire equipment, or highway trucks—your background in industrial machinery is highly valued.
  • Previous exposure to CAT equipment is a strong advantage.
  • A knack for diagnosing and solving complex mechanical issues with confidence and efficiency.
  • Flexibility to work across a variety of machinery and embrace new technologies and methods.
  • A commitment to precision and safety in assembling, testing, and maintaining equipment to meet high performance standards.
