Reporting into the Technical Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will join our team on a full-time permanent basis at our Parts Distribution Centre in South Guildford, WA.

 

This role involves overseeing projects, leading and managing complex designs, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring workplace safety.

 

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including meal break)

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee projects, lead and manage complex designs
  • Mentor junior engineers and approve safety-critical modifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues raised by customers and stakeholders
  • Make decisions on standards, suggest improvements, and lead complex projects

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Possess a Mechanical Engineering degree and significant professional experience in engineering roles within industries such as automotive, mining, oil and gas, or manufacturing
  • Demonstrated track record in leading, mentoring, and managing small teams to successfully deliver projects, designs, or provide manufacturing support
  • Hold a Professional Engineer (Stage 1 competency) status with Engineers Australia (EAust), with Chartered Professional Engineer status with EAust being desirable
  • Possess experience in mechanical designs for mobile equipment utilising industry-standard tools such as Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Nastran
  • Showcase advanced capabilities in undertaking manual calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for design projects
  • Exhibit a high level of initiative along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring thorough follow-through on required actions
  • Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet objectives.
