Project Engineer

Reporting into the Product Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer will join our team on a full-time basis at our Guildford Branch. This role leads the technical delivery of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, cost, and schedule requirements. Working closely with stakeholders across product, sales, design, and manufacturing, the Project Engineer manages technical documentation, testing, and lifecycle milestones to meet both customer and WesTrac standards.
Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including meal break)
What You’ll Do:
- Planning & Delivery – Manage individual project plans, prioritisation, reporting, and compliance. Working closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure the availability of the modification content.
- Product Development – Own product specifications and development at the sales stage, liaising across teams to ensure feasibility, value, and customer alignment for standardised offering.
- Project Management – Define scope, allocate tasks, manage milestones, and maintain stakeholder communication to ensure successful delivery.
- Risk & Compliance – Identify and manage risks across projects and products.
- Continuous Improvement – Drive improvements in engineering processes and product outcomes.
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement – Act as the face of engineering, translating customer needs into technical requirements and guiding deliverables.
Skills & Experience:
- Formal tertiary-level training and qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- Prior experience in Project Management
- Minimum 3 years in an operational manufacturing environment
- Ability to CAD design and understand/interpret data, technical manuals and engineering drawings
- Broad technical knowledge to engage and supervise resources in the areas of safety, design, manufacturing and planning
- Issue resolution and management. Ability to interpret and strategies risk mitigation
- Customer-centric approach with excellent customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships and manage stakeholder expectations
