Performance Improvement Specialist

Reporting to the Head of Projects, the Performance Improvement Specialist assists the business to identify improvement opportunities and lead projects sponsored by General Managers or Executives to achieve targeted benefits.

In this role you will be working closely with the senior leaders to identify opportunities, lead complex improvement projects, and facilitate and manage change to deliver tangible outcomes.

Location:  South Guildford, WA

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours (including lunch)

 

 

What You'll Do:

 

  •  Live the Values - Leads by example everyday through actions, behaviours and decisions
  • Identifying inefficiencies and waste within manufacturing or service processes and collaborating with staff to implement improvements that enhance quality and efficiency using established methodologies.
  • Pinpointing critical control points and constraints in value streams, quantifying opportunities for improvement, and engaging both frontline teams and management in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leading complex, cross-functional projects that are strategically significant, often requiring collaboration across multiple business units to deliver both financial and non-financial benefits.
  • Coordinating and executing project activities in partnership with business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of targeted outcomes.
  • Providing recommendations to senior leaders based on project findings, directly influencing business-critical decisions and fostering a culture of sustained improvement.
  • Ultimately, the Performance Improvement Specialist is a catalyst for change, responsible for embedding a culture of project discipline and improvement and delivering measurable value to the organisation
  • Work as a business partner/SME to an assigned Westrac Division and advise on project and improvement priorities and scheduling
  • Report to the Program Manager any and all activities as required and seek guidance/input when needed
  • Engage with Technical and Functional SME’s within the business as required to build strong working relationships and successfully delivered desired outcomes
  • Engage Vendors and Suppliers and manage relationships and performance appropriately in accordance with Westrac’s values
  • Proactively collaborate with functional representatives

 

 

Experience and Knowledge

 

  • Up to 7 years project management experience with demonstrated experience leading projects of various sizes and type in Manufacturing/Mining/FMCG/Services
  • Strong commercial acumen balanced with a demonstrated track record as a change agent
  • Extensive demonstrated ability in successfully plan & coordinate schedules, budgets and production of quality project documentation
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of business financial management either formally or having been accountable for a budget
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and lead a number of project/improvement initiatives
  • Excellent demonstrated communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with all stakeholders of various levels
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification of and actioning of improvement initiatives
  • Recognised Project Management Qualifications (PMI)
  • Agile Project Management certification & experience
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Tertiary Undergraduate Qualifications in Business, Engineering or Science is desirable
