Mining Business Manager
Reporting to the General Manager - Mining, the Mining Business Manager is a key leadership role within our WA Mining Sales business, responsible for leading a portfolio of major mining customers and developing strategies that drive sustainable growth across capital equipment, aftermarket and technology solutions.
Leading an experienced team, you will build strategic customer partnerships, identify opportunities to grow Caterpillar and WesTrac solutions across the mining lifecycle, and deliver strong customer, market share and commercial outcomes.
Department Overview: Our Mining Sales team partners with some of Australia's largest mining customers, delivering equipment, technology, aftermarket solutions and strategic support to maximise fleet performance, productivity and total cost of ownership across the equipment lifecycle.
Roster – 5 Days, Mon - Fri, 8.5 Hrs/Day
What You'll Do:
- Lead Customer & Sales Strategy – Develop and execute strategic account plans that drive sustainable growth, market share and profitability across capital equipment, aftermarket and technology solutions.
- Build Strategic Customer Partnerships – Develop trusted executive-level relationships with major mining customers, understanding their business priorities and positioning WesTrac as a long-term strategic partner.
- Deliver Customer Value - Identify opportunities to improve fleet performance, reliability and total cost of ownership through value-driven solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams – Coach, develop and provide strategic direction to a high-performing Mining Sales team while fostering accountability, collaboration and a strong safety culture aligned with WesTrac's SPARC values.
Skills & Experience:
- Strategic Sales Leadership – Demonstrated success developing and executing sales strategies within mining, resources, heavy equipment or related industries.
- Customer & Commercial Expertise – Strong commercial acumen with proven experience managing major accounts, contracts and complex customer relationships.
- People Leadership – Advanced leadership capability with experience leading, influencing and developing high-performing teams.
- Stakeholder Management – Exceptional communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
- Professional Qualifications - Relevant bachelor's degree or master's degree (MBA) required
