Reporting into the Product Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will join our team on a Full-time basis at our Guildford branch. This role involves bridging the Engineering Team and Operational team to ensure machine modifications are manufactured as per specifications and standards.

 

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including Meal Break)  

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and Optimise the WesTrac Machine Modification (DPO) Manufacturing Process by working with business stakeholders.
  • Establish standards for installation, quality control, testing and inspection measures to ensure the product meets specifications and standards.
  • Drive to reduce DPO manufacturing cost by standardisation and other lean approaches working along with business stakeholders.  
  • Act as a bridge between the engineering team and workshops to ensure machine modifications are manufactured according to instructions, specifications, and standards. 
  • Streamline DPO assembly and manufacturing processes, translating design specifications into optimal manufacturing approaches by working with business stakeholders.  
  • Oversee design changes throughout the manufacturing process while working with business stakeholders.
  • Support continuous product improvement efforts by facilitating validation, providing workshop DPO support, and implementing standard work practices. 
  • Oversee quality control measures and assist in managing Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure all machine modifications meet all specified requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across sales and operations to facilitate efficient production planning, technical translation, and optimal manufacturing approaches.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing/electrical/mechatronics engineering with at least five years of experience.
  • Experience in utilising, documenting and interpreting CAD drawings; a mechanical background is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of heavy machinery and manufacturing processes with a comprehensive understanding of EBOM & MBOM, process flow and detailed work statements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially having the ability to communicate technical concepts and procedures to all staff effectively.
  • Project management experience implementing lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
